Lansdown Road Motors is gearing up to celebrate 20 years in business this December, marking two decades of keeping Stroud’s motorists safely on the road.
Founded by Ray Teakle and Liam Funnell, who together bring over 60 years of experience in the motoring trade, the garage has built its reputation on friendly, flexible service for all makes and models of car. Both co-owners trained under RAF mechanics, a background that set the standard for their commitment to precision and reliability.

Ray said: “We cater for all vehicles, old and new, with a wide range of diagnostic machines to keep up with the ever-changing market. From MOTs and services, to clutches, timing belts (including wet belts and eco boost kits), batteries, head gaskets, tyres, and air-con regassing for old and new gas, we cover almost everything in-house. We can even arrange paintwork for customers.”

Alongside their services, Lansdown Road Motors offers a 10% discount on servicing when booked with a full-price MOT. The garage caters to cars, small vans, and camper vans, with a team of seven skilled staff members ready to tackle a variety of jobs.

Ray added a helpful reminder for drivers: “Always try to give yourself at least a week before your MOT runs out to allow time for any repairs. You can even get your MOT done up to a month early, giving you up to 13 months of cover.”

The garage recently underwent a signage revamp, giving the business a fresh new look. Ray expressed thanks to Zachary Jones (paintwork), Jamie Evans (woodwork), CR Signs, Roman Glass, and Gloucester Street Forge for their contributions to the project.
