Huddersfield fan Young takes the sting out of Bradford

A Huddersfield fan by birth, Jake Young returned to Yorkshire to break Bradford City hearts.

A player touted as Premier League class by former Forest Green boss Mark Cooper, the former Sheffield United striker made an immediate impact as a second-half sub by smashing a virtuoso equaliser, claiming a point for his side in a 1-1 draw at Valley Parade.

“I was born in Huddersfield, so to score here and in front of the Bradford fans was a good feeling and it was a sweet moment. I had my family here, so it was good for them to see that.”

On netting his third goal of the season, he said: ” Ebou (Adams) has done really well to win it. I picked it up in the pocket and dodged a couple of tackles on the halfway line, I did try and slide Cads (Nicky Cadden) in – I got a lucky rebound, but once I got in front of goal I kept my cool and slid it past the keeper.”

Watch Young’s unabridged interview now, where he also discusses the family feeling at the club and Rovers’ trip to St Albans in the FA Cup first round next Sunday.
