Firefighters scrambled to incident at Waitrose

Waitrose shoppers were evacuated this morning following a refrigeration fault in the store.

Firefighters were called at 10.30am following reports of a smoking fridge in the storage area of the supermarket.

Two fire appliances attended and the store reopened just after 11 am.

Smiles, tears and top grades: Stroud High students celebrate GCSE success

Students, staff and families at Stroud High School were celebrating this morning as Year 11 students collected an impressive set of GCSE results. This year, 22 per cent of all grades awarded were Grade 9, the highest grade available at GCSE. More than half of all grades (51 per cent) were awarded at Grades 9-8, while almost three-quarters (74 per cent) were awarded at Grades 9-7.
