Music lovers were treated to an evening of vocal jazz mastery as American singer-songwriter Curtis Stigers wowed the Stroud Sub Rooms’ audience with a mix of tracks old and new.

The veteran performer, originally from Boise, Idaho, dropped into Stroud between concerts where he is supporting Barry Manilow on his UK tour.

With a string of hits under his belt, including “I Wonder Why”, which reached number 5 in the UK charts, Stigers produced a masterclass as he delivered a performance worthy of a venue many times the size of the Sub Rooms.

An accomplished instrumentalist, Stigers blended his unmistakable voice with faultless jazz and blues saxophone riffs, featuring tracks from his new album, This Life, a celebration of three decades in the music industry.

With outstanding solo performances from each of his trio of supporting band members, fans were treated to an unforgettable evening from a global jazz icon.
