In tropical conditions, Forest Green continued their pre-season campaign with a narrow 3-2 defeat at Championship outfit Swansea City.

In a behind-closed-doors game at Swansea’s training ground, Liam Cullen scored the clinching late goal for the Swans, to add to earlier strikes from Michael Obafemi and Kyle Naughton.

Having trailed, the League One visitors had responded through goals from new signings Reece Brown and Armani Little.

The Swans broke the deadlock after 12 minutes as Naughton found Obafemi in the box, with the striker controlling well before slotting the ball past former Swans goalkeeper Lewis Thomas.

Ian Burchnall’s side responded when Brown stabbed home at the near post.

Rovers nosed ahead when a short free-kick found Little free on the edge of the box and he fizzed a shot past Andy Fisher and into the top of the net.

However, Naughton’s low strike squirmed under Thomas to hand the Swans parity.

In the dying embers of the game, Cullen gave the Swans the lead as his sumptuous free-kick beat Thomas all ends up.
