Champions: Painswick clinch Stroud League title, Taverners second, and first win of season for Kingswood

Painswick’s 3-0 victory over Tetbury Town secured the Stroud League Division One title with just one game to go.

After a surprise 3-1 defeat at home to Shortwood Reserves in midweek, Painswick returned to winning ways on Saturday thanks to a Rickard brace and a Kay strike.

Meanwhile, Taverners finished runners-up, beating Wotton Rovers 3-2 in their final game of the season before facing Tetbury Town in the County Cup final on Tuesday night at Bishop’s Cleeve, kick-off 7.45pm.

In their final game, Kingswood posted their first win of the season with a Harrison Jackson hat-trick handing them a 3-0 victory at Shortwood Reserves.
