A madcap Cheese rolling contest takes place at Coopers Hill near Brockworth on Bank Holiday Monday, May 27 at 12pm.

The event is believed to be at least 600 years old and is an annual tradition that sees hundreds of people gather at the top of Coopers Hill to then chase a 7lb (3kg) Double Gloucester cheese down the 200-yard drop.

As the hill is so steep, the cheese can reach speeds of up to 70mph. The first runner to catch it is crowned the winner.

The wackiest of races, has seen competitors from Australia, New Zealand, Nepal, Canada, and the USA, taking part.
