Drivers in Gloucester are the most dangerous in the country, according to new research.

An analysis of Government data has revealed that drivers in the city have more than 40,000 points on their collective licences, which amounts to nearly nine percent of all drivers.

The study, conducted by accident compensation experts Claims.co.uk, examined GOV.UK data on the number of licence points in each local authority as of May 2024. Those with the highest percentage of points per amount of drivers have been branded the most dangerous driving spots in the country.

Gloucester comes out on top; the region’s 118,233 drivers have a combined 118,233 drivers with a total of 41,407 points on their licences. This equated to 8.98 percent of all drivers and is a huge increase on the national average of 5.52 percent.
