Stroud TV presenter Nick Ponting has been spotted filming in Mexico City.

Ponting was in front of the camera for the FIA Formula E World Championship at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez and is pictured spending time with New Zealand driver and Round One winner, Mitch Evans as well as filming within the race circuit itself in front of the infamous grandstands.

Ponting has already featured on Amazon Prime, alongside main hosts Tiff Needell, Paul Woodman and former Top Gear Stig Ben Collins.

He said: “We’ve just returned from Mexico City and yes, we had a brilliant few days with Jaguar TCS Racing and Formula E filming a great feature.

“The Mexican fans are passionate to say the least which made for a great atmosphere.”

FIA Formula E is an all electric motorsport championship and one of the fastest growing series on the Globe. It features 22 drivers, many of which have competed in Formula 1 and include the likes of Lucas Di Grassi, Stoffel Vandoorne & Sebastian Buemi.

Ponting added: “The whole operation and set up is mighty impressive and they manage to achieve it all, whilst being net zero! The way the future is shaping up, Formula E looks like it’ll continue going from strength-to-strength.”

Although there is no confirmation when and where this latest project will be seen, it is believed that it will part of a special episode which will appear on our screens later this year.

“It’s great to see a grid of pure class. So many drivers with Formula One experience but also to see six British drivers competing at the top of their game is exciting for the future of the sport and for us, as fans.”
