Two former bakery shop employees have started their own business in Nailsworth.
Following the closure of Walkers in January, Lisa Gatley and Lesley Glover have teamed up to run Nice Baps on Cossack Square.
Lisa, who has lived in Nailsworth all her life, told Stroud Times: “I worked for Walkers for eight years and Lesley spent 15years at the bakery, we were sad when it closed, but thought we would give this ago when the building became available.”

Lisa and Lesley are intent on following the same traditions that made Walkers so popular.
Lisa added: “We’re doing all the usual food that we served at Walkers, bacon rolls, filled rolls, cakes and much more.”
Lisa hopes customers will see the funny side of the quirky business name: “We all need a smile and a laugh and the name Nice Baps is just that.”
Customers flocked to the opening this morning, Wednesday. One early customer told Stroud Times: “We were so sad when Walkers closed, so this is the icing on the cake to welcome Lisa and Lesley back to Nailsworh.”
Nice Baps is open Tuesday to Friday from 7.30am – 1.30pm.
