Helen & Douglas House children’s hospice will be opening a new boutique-style charity shop in Stroud next Thursday, 11am in the Five Valleys Shopping centre, to raise money to help local terminally ill children.

This great new shop will be officially opened by local home, garden and lifestyle influencer Anita Russell from Anita Russell Interiors (Instagram – @by_anitarussell). Anita will be cutting the ribbon, selecting her top home buys from the Helen & Douglas House shop and will be available to talk to about interior styling.

Be one of the first to step into the stunning boutique-style shop and enjoy refreshments, where urban industrial meets sustainable fashion and homeware. Get a first look at the great range of handpicked vintage treasures, stylish finds, and unique pieces waiting to be discovered.

Every purchase you make in this shop helps support local terminally ill children and their families so it is a place where your shopping makes a real difference to local people.

Helen & Douglas House is the world’s first children’s hospice which opened in 1982 in Oxford. This was the start of the children’s hospice movement and there are now 54 children’s hospices across the UK.

This will be the 25th charity shop Helen & Douglas House has opened. The charity opened their first shop in Oxford Covered Market in Oxford in 2003. In 2023/24 the Helen & Douglas House shops raised £1.4m to help local terminally ill children.

Helen & Douglas House children’s hospice cares for terminally ill children and their families across the Thames Valley and the home counties at home, in hospital and at the hospice. It is a place where families can create happy memories in their last days, weeks, months or years together.

Mona Polo, Helen & Douglas House Charity Shop Manager for the Stroud shop said:  “We are excited to be opening a new shop in Stroud to raise money to help terminally ill children in such a great location on the King Street side of the Five Valleys Shopping Centre.

You will find some very high-quality designer and high street womenswear, menswear, and accessories, as well as great homeware products. The urban-industrial boutique-style shop creates a great ambiance and brings a new shopping experience to Stroud. Come along to our opening event and meet local home and lifestyle influencer Anita Russell, or pop in anytime to find some wonderful treasures while raising money for a great children’s hospice charity.”
