Forest Green have signed goalkeeper Luke McNicholas on a permanent deal from Wrexham, subject to international clearance.

Born in County Mayo, Ireland, the 25-year-old began his career with local side Manulla, before joining for Sligo Rovers – signing professional terms with the club.

The shot-stopper had loan spells with Finn Harps and Cliftonville before returning to Sligo in the summer of 2022.

He joined Wrexham in August 2023 and made the move permanent in January 2024.

McNicholas signed for Rochdale on loan last term keeping six clean sheets in nine matches – including our goalless draw at Spotland – but injury cut short his campaign.
