A brand-new 10K race will make its debut in Stroud this autumn, running alongside the town’s much-loved Half Marathon on Sunday, October 26.
The new event, named simply the Stroud 10K, will offer runners a shorter course option while still taking in the atmosphere and community spirit the Stroud Half Marathon has become known for over the years.
Organisers have confirmed that entries for both races will open at 8am on Friday 25th July, with a limited number of discounted “super early bird” places available for the first 100 runners to sign up.
The Stroud Half Marathon, a fixture on the local events calendar, regularly attracts hundreds of participants from across the region and beyond. It is widely praised for its well-organised route, supportive marshals, and enthusiastic local crowds.
This year’s addition of a 10K race is expected to widen the appeal further, attracting runners who may not yet feel ready for a half marathon but still want to take part in the day.
Both events will take place on the same day and are expected to draw large numbers of spectators, volunteers, and supporters from the local community.
More details, including the route and entry fees, are expected to be published in the coming weeks.
