The Sharpness Vintage Vehicle Gathering took place on Wednesday – this gem of a show featured a large turnout of road vehicles including many motorbikes, writes Rich Kelsey.

The weather started off cloudy but by the evening the sun came out, whatever the weather it certainly didn’t put off the exhibitors, petrol heads and families attending.

The Sharpness Vintage Vehicle Gathering (renamed in 2024 from the ‘Sharpness Faithfull’) was started many years ago by Ken Faithful a well-known local vintage commercial vehicle enthusiast.

This year’s event was managed by Martyn Slater with assistance from the Stroud Vintage Engine Club volunteers and helpers. The show started at 3pm at Sharpness Dockers Club (a friendly and well-run not for profit community facility), admission to the show is by donation only.

The annual mid-week rally is always a casual drop in for showcasing vintage classic cars from pre and post war, including classic American cars, lots of motorbikes and scooters, trucks, military vehicles buses etc from the early 1900s to the modern era.

As you can see from the photos it was a great turn out, and chance to socially chat all things motoring and more. Wings and Wheels Society Dursley say many thanks to the Martyn, the SVTEC team and all volunteers, helpers and exhibitors, plus the Sharpness Dockers Club folks that all worked hard to make this gem of a local gathering happen, cheers to you all, keep up the excellent work!
