A thriving jewellery business in Stroud’s Five Valleys Shopping Centre is set to celebrate its first anniversary.
Surya Chamak means sunshine in Hindi, and that’s what founder Reena Gohil-Khetani wanted her brand to represent — warmth, light, and confidence. After spending 13 years in the corporate finance world, becoming a mother to her two young children shifted her perspective. She realised she wanted to create something meaningful, something that gave her freedom while also bringing joy to others.
Jewellery had always been a passion, but Reena was often disappointed by pieces that didn’t last or felt out of reach. Surya Chamak was her answer: a brand offering jewellery that feels special without a high price tag.
Opening the shop in Stroud last year was one of the biggest leaps of her life. “I didn’t know how people would respond,” she reflects, “but over the past year it’s become more than I ever imagined. The shop isn’t just a place to buy jewellery — it’s a place where people connect, share their stories, and feel part of something.”
From the very beginning, Surya Chamak has stood out for its ability to blend quality with accessibility. Customers aren’t just shoppers — many have become friends, contributing to the warm and welcoming atmosphere that makes the shop feel so unique.
