Stroud Table Tennis Club serves up £7,000 upgrade

Stroud Table Tennis Club has made a major investment of over £7,000 in brand-new, top-quality tables and nets.

The new equipment, marked DONIC, replaces older models and has been warmly welcomed by players.

The upgrade will enable the club to host local annual league tournaments as well as national events, further enhancing Stroud’s reputation as a thriving centre for table tennis.

The Saturday morning all-age sessions at Stratford Park are seeing record attendances, with 18 tables in action. Players have already noticed the difference, with one commenting: “The tables are fast and have great bounce — noticeably better than the old ones.”

Several of the older tables have found new homes at satellite clubs recently established at Minchinhampton Community Hub and Painswick Rugby Club, while others are being used at Nailsworth Primary School, where the league has launched a new after-school club attended by around 20 children.
