A popular country pub, renowned for its signature 2 in 1 pies, has issued a polite appeal to visitors and walkers after its car park became full before opening hours, leaving no space for lunchtime customers.
On Saturday morning, the The Weighbridge Inn shared a photo on social media showing its car park completely full at 11:15am—45 minutes before opening. Despite not being open until 12pm, the premises already had more than 50 lunch bookings, with many guests struggling to find parking.
In a statement, the pub said: “This is unacceptable. Our car park was full of cars well before we opened, which meant our customers with bookings had nowhere to park. Please don’t use our car park as a base for walks unless you are dining with us.”
The team added that they want to avoid introducing a car park management system. “Don’t make us us a car park management system like other pubs in the area have too, please stop using our car park to go for a walk.”
They also encouraged customers who plan to walk before dining to include their car registration number when booking, so staff can ensure parking is available for genuine visitors.
“If you have a booking and are walking first then coming in for food then please put your car registration number on the booking notes so we know you are booked in.”
