All four of Stroud District Council’s political group leaders have joined together to issue a joint statement promoting unity and harmony in our communities.
“Stroud District Council stands alongside every resident in all our diverse communities. We are committed to ensuring that our district remains a welcoming and inclusive place – everyone who lives here should feel safe and respected,” the statement reads.
“We have marked Hate Crime Awareness Week and celebrated Black History Month, so we want to take this moment to thank everyone who continues to show support, kindness and respect for one another. This is a time to unite and stand together, to support one another, and reaffirm that hate has no place in our district.
“Behaviour which may be perceived as unwelcoming can have a serious effect on minority groups. They may feel afraid and that they are not part of our diverse communities.
