A major new destination for vintage lovers, Home of Vintage, opened at Five Valleys this morning – ahead of the town’s much-loved Goodwill Evening.

The launch event was warmly received by visitors, traders and the local community, and featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Happy Valley actor and vintage fan Susan Lynch, who is set to appear in the second series of A Thousand Blows, a gritty period drama which will be screened on Disney+ in January, and who praised the new space for celebrating Stroud’s creativity and character.

Home of Vintage brings together some of Gloucestershire’s finest vintage, retro and pre-loved traders under one roof and now stands as the largest vintage space in the region. More traders are set to join in early 2026, with units still available for those wishing to become part of the community.

Guests at the opening explored a vibrant marketplace featuring artists, makers, collectors, booksellers, pre-loved fashion specialists, retro décor sellers and craftspeople. Styled with colourful shutters inspired by the Five Valleys Food Hall, the space features Instagrammable murals, retro-inspired décor and a lively, nostalgic soundtrack.

Visitors can also enjoy healthy drinks from Mr Juice, served from a vintage Citroën van at the entrance.

Five Valleys Centre Manager Mick Grundy said: “Opening day was brilliant for everyone involved. The atmosphere was buzzing and it was fantastic to see so many people supporting our independent traders. Home of Vintage adds something completely unique to the area, and we’re excited to build on this momentum as more makers and vintage specialists join us.”
