Cirencester Road is closed in both directions between Cowcombe Lane and the A419 Cowcombe Hill at Minchinhampton following the discovery of a man’s body at a nearby property.

Gloucestershire Police were called to a house just off Cirencester Road at around 10pm on Monday, where officers found a man dead inside. His next of kin have been informed.

The road remains closed while police continue their enquiries.

Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service area manager, Matt Amey said: “We understand that this tragic fire, coming so soon after the recent incident in Brimscombe, may cause further concern and sadness in the community.

“Please be reassured that we are here to support you and help keep you safe.”
