Elderly man dies in Cirencester collision – police launch appeal

A man has died following a collision in Cirencester this afternoon, Monday, and officers are appealing for information.

Emergency services were called to Watermoor Way shortly before 2.40pm with a report of a collision involving a Volkswagen Polo and Triumph Thruxton motorcycle.

The driver of the Volkswagen Polo, a man aged in his 80s and from Cirencester, was treated by paramedics and later passed away from his injuries. His next of kin have been informed.

The rider of the motorbike was assessed by paramedics and did not sustain any serious injuries.

Several roads were closed while a collision investigation took place and have since reopened.

Investigating officers are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or has any relevant dashcam footage to get in contact.
