Football fans and collectors alike will have a rare opportunity to own a piece of sporting history this week, as a signed photograph of England’s legendary 1966 World Cup-winning team goes under the hammer at Wotton Auction Rooms.
The limited edition photograph features the signatures of some of the nation’s most iconic players, including captain Sir Bobby Moore, Alan Ball, Martin Peters, Ray Wilson, Gordon Banks, Jack Charlton, Bobby Charlton, Roger Hunt, Nobby Stiles and George Cohen. The team famously secured England’s only major international football triumph with a 4–2 victory over West Germany after extra time at Wembley Stadium.
