Emergency services are currently in attendance at an incident near a railway crossing in Stroud this morning, Monday.
The incident has occurred at the Beards Lane crossing, near Stratford Road, resulting in the closure of the railway line.
Multiple emergency response units are at the scene, including an air ambulance, which has landed in a nearby field to assist.
An eyewitness told Stroud Times: “An air ambulance has landed in a field near the railway track, and a number of emergency vehicles are at the scene. I hope whoever is involved is OK, but it’s extremely worrying.”
UPDATE
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “Officers were called to the line near Stroud railway station at 7.26am on April 20 to reports of a casualty on the tracks. Paramedics also attended and sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene. This incident is not being treated as suspicious, and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
