Children’s author visits Wotton school as part of Gloucestershire’s year of reading

MOST READ

Children’s author Tracey Corderoy visited the British School in Wotton-under-Edge to run a session featuring Shifty McGifty and Slippery Sam from her best-selling books.

Four organisations in Gloucestershire joined together to form Gloucestershire’s Year of Reading, with the aim of making Gloucestershire an area of outstanding literacy during the National Year of Reading.  Charities Read With Me, Read for Good and Cheltenham Festivals, along with Gloucestershire County Council, share the vision of ensuring all children in the county have the opportunity to learn to read well, whilst giving them the foundations for a lifelong love of reading.

Gloucestershire’s Year of Reading is supported by libraries, family hubs, schools, literacy charities and bookshops – to create a county wide movement designed to change the way we talk about reading, as well as providing accessible activities and resources for schools, young people and their families.
