A significant private collection of LEGO sets spanning the early 2000s to the present day is set to be offered at auction, featuring more than 30 highly sought-after boxed models from across the LEGO range.
The collection, originating from a private owner, includes a diverse selection of builds ranging from accessible family-friendly sets to advanced collector’s editions designed for experienced builders aged 18 and over.
Among the standout pieces under the hammer at Wotton Auction Rooms are several iconic and highly desirable sets, including the LEGO Technic Lamborghini, the James Bond Aston Martin DB5, the Back to the Future DeLorean, and the Star Wars Ultimate Collector Series Imperial Star Destroyer.
Toby Lennox-Hilton from Wotton Auction Rooms said: “The collection is expected to generate strong interest due to the presence of retired and highly collectible sets. While retail pricing varies widely across the collection, the Technic Lamborghini is anticipated to be among the most valuable individual models at original retail.
“The seller, a returning client of the auction house, has previously offered similar collections. The current consignments reflect years of personal enjoyment, with the owner having assembled, displayed, and selectively retained items before deciding to release the remainder to market.
“The collection represents a broad and engaging mix of LEGO sets that will appeal to both seasoned collectors and enthusiasts alike, highlighting its range, condition, and recognisable themed models.”
Because the items are pre-owned and sold through auction, final hammer prices are expected to differ from retail values. However, the rarity of discontinued sets may enhance their appeal to collectors.
The lego will be up for grabs during a three-day sale at Wotton Auction Rooms starting on Tuesday, May 12.
