Football fans and book lovers are invited to a special evening at The Stroud Wine Company as author and football podcaster Paul Watson celebrates the launch of his new book, Around The World in 80 Clubs: A Journey Through the Weird, Wacky and Wonderful World of Football.

Taking place on Thursday, May 21 from 6–8pm, the event will offer guests a unique insight into the global game beyond its most famous names. In Around The World in 80 Clubs, Watson explores the extraordinary stories that define football cultures across the world—from squirrel-costumed fans in Andorra to Buddhist monk ultras in Bhutan, and even matches in the Vatican City.

Deliberately steering away from football’s biggest clubs, the book shines a spotlight on the lesser-known teams and communities that give the sport its rich diversity and enduring spirit. Packed with humour and unforgettable tales, it offers a fresh perspective for anyone passionate about the beautiful game.

During the evening, Paul Watson will deliver a short talk about the inspiration behind the book, followed by a signing session. Copies will be available on the night, provided by Borderless Books. Guests will also enjoy a complimentary glass of wine.

This is a free, informal event with no टिकट requirement—attendees are encouraged to simply turn up and join the celebration.
