Photo London, now in its eleventh year, showcases close to 600 artists, appeals to photographers, collectors or someone who simply loves photography. Round every corner of Olympia, you will find something of interest, writes Nige Brown.
This year’s show has moved from Somerset House, which was a beautiful venue, but I feel Olympia is larger, brighter and easier to navigate around the various displays. There are galleries, talks, book signings, places to relax, enjoy a drink and take in the show, a screening room and a publisher’s section.
Works by David Bailey, Linda McCartney, Edward Burtynsky and Martin Parr were on show – in fact, photography is featured from all over the world.
My favourite and standout work is by Steven Meisel, who is regarded as one of the most influential and prolific fashion photographers of his generation and a driving force behind many iconic models of the 1990s. I particularly loved his London portraits.
Photo London has something for everyone, and I would highly recommend you pay a visit next year, whether you are a professional like me or simply have an interest in photography. I guarantee you will enjoy the experience.
