Scottish Premiership side Hearts are believed to have revived their interest in Forest Green Rovers captain Laurent Mendy.
The New Lawn top brass rejected what was understood to be a derisory offer for the defender during the January transfer window, but according to Football Insider’s Peter O’Rourke, new Hearts head coach Wouter Vrancken is exploring the possibility of bringing the versatile defender to Tynecastle Park.
Mendy, 29, was arguably Rovers’ standout performer last season. Since arriving from Macclesfield, he has established himself as one of the first names on the teamsheet, earning praise for his leadership and consistency.
The French-born defender has also become a key figure under Robbie Savage and remains an integral part of Forest Green’s plans heading into the new campaign, meaning Hearts are likely to face a tough task if they hope to prise him away from The New Lawn.
