One of Stroud’s best-known independent art shops has officially entered a new era after rebranding as Jackson’s Art Stroud, bringing an expanded range of fine art materials while promising to retain the friendly service and creative community that customers have enjoyed for the past 20 years.
Formerly known as Pegasus, the much-loved shop has long been at the heart of Stroud’s thriving arts scene, supplying artists of all abilities with quality materials, expert advice and a welcoming place to explore their creativity.
Now under the Jackson’s Art name, the business is building on that legacy by offering an even wider selection of fine art supplies alongside an expanded programme of workshops, talks and creative events.
The shop, located in a historic mill building on the Stroudwater Canal, is also home to two teaching studios, nine artist studios and a year-round calendar of classes designed to support everyone from beginners to professional artists.

While the name has changed, our team and our commitment to supporting artists in the area remain the same.

Jackson’s says the rebrand reflects its commitment to empowering artists through greater material choice, specialist knowledge and continued investment in Stroud’s creative community.
Although the Pegasus name has been retired, customers can expect the same experienced team and welcoming atmosphere, alongside new opportunities to discover materials, develop skills and connect with fellow artists.
The change marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for one of Stroud’s longest-established creative destinations, ensuring it remains a cornerstone of the town’s vibrant arts community for years to come.
