Police are appealing for witnesses after a car was stolen from outside a property in Berkeley.

A grey Nissan Qashqai was taken from the Berrycroft area after the vehicle’s doors were reportedly tampered with.

The theft happened between 10.30am on Tuesday, September 1, and 5.40am on Wednesday, September 2.

Local residents have also reported seeing a man and woman acting suspiciously in the area, with concerns they may have been trying car door handles and stealing items from vehicles.

Officers are now asking anyone who may have seen the Nissan Qashqai during the relevant times, witnessed anything suspicious or has information about what happened to come forward.

Police are also keen to hear from anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage which could assist the investigation.

Information can be provided online by completing the Gloucestershire Police reporting form and quoting occurrence number 53260075770.

Officers are also reminding motorists that criminals can be quick to exploit opportunities, including unlocked vehicles.

Residents are being urged to remove valuable items from vehicles when leaving them overnight and, where possible, park in well-lit areas.
