What’s on in Stroud this week: 7 – 13 September 2026
It’s another busy week for event organisers across the Stroud area, as everyone rushes to squeeze the last out of the summery days.
The annual Heritage Open Days festival sees special openings in Nailsworth and at a number of other locations in the district, Minchinhampton throws its annual street party and the Gloucestershire Printmaking Cooperative celebrates 20 years with a special show at Lansdown Hall.
Plus, this Sunday Frampton-on-Severn’s huge annual Country Fair takes place and Community Juice Gloucestershire and Hill House Retreats combine for a special apple-juicing event in Amberley.

Regular and one off events
- Admire prints at Lansdown Hall– Tue 8 – Sun 13 Sep, 10am – 4pm
The members of the Gloucestershire Printmaking Cooperative bring their considerable collective talents to Lansdown Hall for a special exhibition to mark their 20th anniversary. The show begins with a private view and Q&A with the artists on Tuesday at 6pm.
- See Inspiral Carpets at the Sub Rooms– Thu 10 Sep, 7pm
Madchester pioneers Inspiral Carpets originally formed in Oldham in 1983, and are still touring more than 40 years later, with original vocalist Stephen Holt returning in 2011 to replace Tom Hingley. This Thursday they arrive at the Sub Rooms to play hits such as Saturn 5 and This Is How It Feels.
- Explore historic Nailsworth– Sat 12 Sep, 10am – 4/5pm
The annual Heritage Open Days festival returns, with special openings at two of Nailsworth’s hidden gems on Saturday. Volunteers will be welcoming visitors to Stokescroft – the little-altered Queen Anne house fronting onto Chestnut Hill – and the Grade II* listed Quaker Meeting House on Quakers Close. Stroud Textile Trust will also be opening their Dunkirk Mill and Gigg Mill sites.
- Attend the Minchinhampton Street Party– Sat 12 Sep, 12 noon – 5pm
Minchinhampton High Street will be closed this Saturday afternoon, as the Minch Moo Street Party takes place, with locals bringing out their picnics and portable furniture to enjoy a community celebration in the street with a backdrop of live music. The highlight of the day is the Minch Moo relay race, in which competitors race carrying buckets of ‘milk’ along a designated route. Expect quite a lot of bunting.
- Enjoy the Frampton Country Fair – Sun 13 Sep, 9am – 6pm
Frampton-on-Severn’s annual celebration of country life takes place this Sunday across 30 acres of formal parkland at the Frampton Court Estate. The huge event prides itself on providing a traditional celebration of agricultural and country pursuits, with more than 400 trade stands, a traditional fun-fair, a range of livestock and three display rings.
- Juice your apples at Hill House– Sun 13 Sep, 10am – 2pm
This Sunday, Community Juice Gloucestershire and Amberley’s Hill House Retreats come together for a special juicing day. Attendees are invited to bring as many ripe apples as they can muster for juicing, with any surplus used to make Community Juice to raise funds for community projects.

- See the UNmaking exhibition– Sat 12 Sep – Sun 8 Nov
The Museum in the Park hosts this new exhibition from The Textile Study Group exploring how deliberate deconstruction of textiles can lead to journeys of discovery. Expect works that embrace the processes of unravelling, cutting, and unpicking to create interesting new pieces which challenge perceptions of textile art.

- Tour Beatrix Potter’s Gloucester– Sat 12 & Sun 13 Sep, 2pm
This special guided tour for the Heritage Open Days event explores a number of Gloucester locations which are closely connected with Beatrix Potter and inspired her stories. In May 1894, Potter stayed with her cousin at Harescombe Grange between Edge and Brookthorpe, and heard a story about Gloucester tailor John Pritchard. She requested to visit Gloucester, and the visit provided the inspiration for her story The Tailor of Gloucester.
