Having featured on numerous television shows, including Most Haunted and Ghost Adventures, and the subject of many paranormal investigations, The Ancient Ram Inn in Wotton-under-Edge is holding an open day on Saturday, July 9th.

The Grade II listed former dates back to the twelfth century and was used to house builders of St Mary’s Church in the town.

Owner Caroline Humphries said: “Come and see the winding oak staircases with drooping beams dating back to 1465. The Ram has ancient cobwebs, flagstone floors, inglenook fireplaces and creaky old floorboards that will be sure to heighten or frighten the senses.”

The event runs from 11am to 4pm. Disabled access is very limited due to the age of the building, and visitors are advised to wear suitable footwear and supervise children on uneven surfaces. Tickets cost £6 for adults and free admission for children 16 and under, dogs welcome.
