Family and friends of former Retreat chef Stuart Law packed St Laurence Church in Stroud to remember a life well-lived.
Stuart’s coffin entered the church to the music of Un-Break My Heart by Toni Braxton – his go-to song whilst preparing lunches in the Retreat kitchen.
Former Retreat colleague Tom Ruggles recalled the impact Stuart made on the ‘Retreat family’ with his warm heart, mischievous smile and legendary rostis during his 27 years at the iconic bar alongside friend and owner Ian Morrison.
Stuart’s coffin left the church to You Get What You Give by the New Radicals and his friends raised a farewell glass in his memory at the nearby Retreat.
