A sign of the times: taxi office up for sale but business motors on

A taxi booking office which has served Stroud for more than 40 years is up for sale.

A&A Taxis co-owner Pete Law says “changing times” are behind their decision to close the office on Station Road.

He said: “We don’t need the office anymore and the old days of people coming off the train and sitting in the waiting room for a taxi are over, this is a different era and customers book through our website or call us directly.”

The taxi office caught national attention last year when it was used for Apple TV project Slow Horses starring actors Gary Oldman and Kristin Scott Thomas.
