This Sunday, June 26th, sees the return of Stroud Vintage Bus Show at Stroud College, Stratford Road.
The event, organised by Adam Hall, attracts buses and coaches from across the district and further afield.
Around 30 to 40 buses are expected to be on show, the oldest dating back to the 1930s. “Some of the vehicles may have served at Stroud during their life whilst in service, probably taking some of the visitors to school,” said Jason Vick.
“Service vehicles usually use the lower car park whilst static vehicles park in the upper area. Last year’s vehicle ages ranged from mid 1930s up to a brand-new Midland Fox vehicle,” added Jason.
Shuttle buses will run from Stroud town centre to the event, the first buses will depart Stroud Waitrose 10.10am and 10.40am; Stroud Russell Street Peacocks 10.12am and 10.42; Stroud Merrywalks Bus Station Bay B 10.15am and 10.45am. Buses will be departing at the same time every hour at 30-minute intervals.
Organisers are asking visitors to make use of the bus service and free parking in the town as parking at nearby Stratford Park Leisure Centre is limited.
