Meningitis Now’s flagship sponsored walk takes place on Sunday, challenging walkers on 21-mile route around the Five Valleys.
Now in its 39th year, the Five Valleys Walk is a Stroud institution.
The Five Valleys Walk offers a great day of walking, entertainment and local food. Those taking part can choose how far they want to walk across the eight checkpoints, from 1.5 miles to the full 21-mile route. There will be a free bus back to their starting point no matter the distance walked.
Stagecoach is providing free shuttle buses for walk participants on Sunday, connecting key checkpoints with Stroud throughout the afternoon.
The services will run hourly from 11am to 5pm, linking locations including Nailsworth, Minchinhampton, Slad, Brimscombe, Lypiatt, Standish Woods and Pitchcombe.
The initiative coincides with Catch the Bus Month, highlighting how buses can be used not just for everyday journeys, but also to get out and about for local events and days out.
There will also be a touch of transport nostalgia, with a Stagecoach heritage bus operating the Cricket Club Shuttle throughout the day.
The free services are designed to make it easier for participants to travel between the different walking locations without having to rely on their cars.
