Oisin Hayden Burrell delivers his definitive synopsis on a busy Christmas period at Stroud Brewery.
To manage this time of the year, we need warming drinks and good company. As the temperature really starts to drop, we must do all we can to avoid the teeth chattering chill. This winter, Stroud Brewery have prepared their venue to help you do just that. Â
Why not embrace the beauty of this season by taking a gentle stroll down the picturesque canal path. The sunlight cutting through the morning mist and reflecting off the almost frozen water makes for beautiful scene.

A short way along the path and you’ll find them, head in and cosy up with a gingerbread latte or a hazelnut hot chocolate, two of the several new drinks they have introduced, as a part of their Bar’s new Christmas menu. Don’t worry black coffee drinkers, they’re still doing the classics too. Hot drinks can certainly help shake off the cold, but nothing can get rid of it quite as successfully as one of the tasty new seasonal dishes, their chefs have created.
The team have worked hard to bring you a delicious Christmas menu of soul warming food. The Christmas dinner in a bun promises to be the best cure for the it-gets-dark-at-4pm sickness. Of course, if you’re after their woodfired pizzas, they aren’t going anywhere.

A key part of their project at the Brewery is to support and grow our community in tandem with their business. This is why their kitchen uses as much locally sourced produce as possible and it is also why their bar is well stocked with some of the best local beverages, like Dunkerton’s Cider, Days Cottage Cider and Cotswold Gin.Â
We all know there is one thing that can bring even more warmth than a well stoked fire, or thick fluffy blanket, a flavoursome beer. Fortunately for you, they have such a thing in abundance.

Their team of brewers have crafted you an assortment of mouth-water seasonal beers, to partner their year-round brews in the taproom. Their new white stout, Arctic Cat, is the perfect tool for combatting the low temperatures we are currently experiencing. A warm, rich beer with heavy notes of chocolate, coffee, and vanilla. Keep your eyes peeled, Arctic Cat is not the only winter warmer that will be gracing their taps this month.Â

To accompany their delicious new food and drinks, they are hosting an array of exciting events this December. Their daytime hours at the brewery are packed full of classes, from wreath making workshops to yoga, and all in-between. The Christmas Fayre they are hosting on the 17th is the perfect opportunity to get your family and friends the thoughtful gifts that you probably haven’t quite thought of yet, whilst also supporting the local community.Â

Their belief in supporting the local community is cornerstone to all they do, that is why they’re hosting Gloucestershire’s cream-of-the-crop musicians and DJs this December. Their newly introduced Sunday Stylin’, where each Sunday afternoon a local DJ blesses their taproom with good tunes and good vibes has made the Brewery the place to end your week.
Coming up next, they have Neon Pumps, followed by DJ Monobrow the week after, these guys’ sets are guaranteed to take your mind away from the week to come. For a Christmas Stylin’ special they are very excited to welcome D’Artagnan on Christmas Eve to appreciate his acoustic set of pop, soul, reggae, and rock.
They have many other exciting musicians and DJs playing this winter, check out their website for a full list. But before you move onto the next article, let me tell you about the bumper New Year’s Eve night they have planned. When talking about real Gloucestershire talent, we must mention DJ Juicy, Fiyahman, and DJ Fade, who alongside Bro will be bringing you a collection of reggae, garage and old skool hip hop this December 31st starting at 8pm and finishing late. This night is sure to be one of the best they’ve ever put on. Make sure to get your tickets soon, with these guys hosting, tickets are likely to sell out fast.
