Alpacas will be visiting Stroud next week – and visitors will get the chance to feed, stroke and photograph them.
Rayelle and Elliot Borthwick from Fennell’s Alpacas will bring three alpacas to The Well, part of the Stroud Centre for Peace and The Arts – formerly known as St Laurence Church Hall – in The Shambles, Stroud between 10.30am and 12.30pm next Wednesday, September 11th.
Alpacas, native to the Andes of South America are gentle animals, known for their supremely soft fleece which is made into luxury fabrics and garments.
The event will be part of Wednesdays @ The Well, and a short talk will take place every 30 minutes along with opportunities to ask questions and enjoy a display of the spinning and weaving process.
Other Wednesdays @ The Well events include Crafting Vision Circles on Wednesday 18th, and a Paella cookery demonstration and tasting session on Wednesday 25th.
Jane Court, community development partner for Stroud Centre for Peace and the Arts, said: “We are excited about our re-launch. Wednesdays @ The Well is as a way to bring our community together.
“In today’s fast-paced world its more important than ever to create spaces where people can connect and unwind. We are looking forward to welcoming everyone and making Wednesdays @ The Well a vibrant hub of activity, creativity and friendship.
“If you like what we are doing at The Well, come and join the volunteer team and share your gifts, talents or interests with The Well community. We happily support work experience efforts so volunteering here could lead to job references for those for whom that would be helpful.”
