Step into the colourful world of contemporary textile art, blending print, paint, embroidery, soft sculpture and bookmaking in exciting and unusual ways.
The exhibition opens at the Lansdown Gallery in Stroud on May 10th and runs until May 21st, 2023.
This beautifully curated group exhibition is a celebration of the most recent work by contemporary textile artists Christine Seager, Claire Passmore, Stephanie Crawford, stitcher, Sylvia Hammond and printmaker Maria Harryman. The 5 friends are each well established artists, having shared connections in the South West of England. Each has her work in public and private collections and exhibit nationally and internationally.
Exhibiting together for the first time, the works they have selected to hang demonstrate their shared love of colour, bringing together associations and emotive powers to create a vibrant collection of artworks that will delight and intrigue viewers.
The gallery opens at 10am to 4.30pm daily, with the opportunity to speak to at least one of the artists each day. Artist Sylvia Hammond will also be hosting 2 slow stitch workshops on Thursday evenings. Further details and reservations for these events can be obtained from Sylvia by email: touchofcolour23@gmail.com
This exhibition is free to attend and has flat, easy access for all visitors.
10.00am to 4.30pm daily and 10.00am to 7pm Thursdays.
