Sonar Sessions is set to deliver another unforgettable night of live electronic music in Stroud, with Anchorsong headlining the event.
Taking place on 22 March at Studio 18, this intimate evening of cutting-edge soundscapes and dancefloor-ready rhythms promises to be a standout event for music lovers.
Originally from Tokyo and now based in London, Anchorsong—aka Masaaki Yoshida—is an artist who has captivated audiences worldwide with a unique approach to live performance.

Renowned for crafting immersive and rhythmic compositions, Anchorsong does not simply play music but creates it live in front of the audience. Using an MPC2500 and keyboard, he paints an intricate sonic landscape in real-time, an experience described as “like watching a painter drawing on a white canvas.”
Anchorsong’s global reputation has been built on standout moments, from a live Maida Vale session for BBC Radio 1 to festival appearances at Glastonbury, Shambala, and Further Future. The ability to blend electronic beats with elements of world music has earned him accolades from industry giants such as Gilles Peterson, BBC 6Music, and Rolling Stone Japan. His recent album, Mirage, further cements his position as one of the most forward-thinking artists in contemporary electronic music, weaving together wind instrumentals, choirs, and global sonic influences into an intricate and dreamlike experience.
Joining Anchorsong on the lineup are two exciting live electronic acts. Sam Judd, known for deep, atmospheric soundscapes and jazz-infused beats, will bring a dynamic and groove-driven set. Neon Pumps, a rising force in the southwest’s electronic scene, will deliver an electrifying performance, merging raw energy with sophisticated production. Special guest DJs, Bristol duo SUN793 & Stroud’s homegrown talent, LOM4X will be on hand to keep the energy high throughout the night.
Sonar Sessions continues to push the boundaries of live electronic music, and this night is no exception. The event is presented in partnership with Studio 18, an organization dedicated to fostering innovative and boundary-pushing musical experiences in Stroud.
Doors open at 8pm, and early arrival is encouraged to experience the full journey.
