A new shop is bringing a taste of the Caribbean to Stroud.

Anjola’s opened in Threadneedle Street last weekend and is run by proprietors Adebayo and Olubunmi Fadugba and store manager Funmi Olusesi.

“We sell Afro Caribbean food condiments, African ready meals, cosmetics, hair extensions, wigs, clothing and accessories and household items,” explained Adebayo.

“The shop opens its doors from 10am – 5pm, Monday to Saturday and 11am to 4pm on Sundays.

“We moved here as Stroud is a market town with enlightened consumers, welcoming and to further highlight the diversity of Stroud and project the excellent nature of its people to other part of UK.”

Adebayo describes customers’ reactions to the new store as “phenomenal.”

“We are open for business and honoured to serve Stroudians,” he added.

Tom Berry, chair of the Stroud Chamber of Commerce and Trade told Stroud Times: “It’s really great to welcome Mr and Mrs Fadugba to Stroud.

“Stroud is a town that truly celebrates diversity and this business is a great reflection of that. The shop has a really wide range of products that will be of interest to the whole community.”
