Police are appealing for dashcam footage from Stroud’s Ebley bypass to help their investigation into a rape that happened last week.
Police received a report that a woman had been sexually assaulted on the B4066 Dudbridge Road at around midday on Friday, July 22.
An arrest was made on Saturday, July 23 and a man has since been released on police bail pending further enquiries. However, officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have information that could help their investigation.
The attack took place near to the tunnel along the cycle path opposite Sainsbury’s and the victim was found in a distressed state by a member of public.
It is believed the suspect ran along the cycle path which is adjacent to the Ebley bypass. Police would like to speak to any motorists who may have dashcam or any cyclists with footage of the area between 11.55am and 12.15pm last Friday.
The suspect was described as being male, white, tall, of a slim build and had a large nose. He was wearing a dark hooded top and dark trousers.
