A woman has died following a single vehicle collision near Cirencester last night (Tuesday 30 July) and officers are appealing for information.

Emergency services were called to the B4425 in Barnsley shortly before 8pm with a report that a motorcyclist had collided with a tree.

The rider of the motorcycle, a woman in her 40s and from Swindon, sustained serious injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

Road closures remain in place between the B4425 Welsh Way and from the junction with the A417 while collision investigation work takes place.

Investigating officers would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision and has not already spoken to police or who has dashcam footage they feel may be relevant.
