Appeal for victims after man allegedly spits at people in Stroud

Police have arrested a man in Stroud following a number of alleged spitting incidents at an event in the town earlier this month.

It was reported that a man had been spitting at members of the public in and around Gloucester Street at about 7.45pm on Saturday 18 May.

Police have identified some victims, but believe there may be others and are now appealing for them to come forward.

A 35-year-old man from Stroud was arrested on suspicion of common assault. He has been released on police bail and enquiries are continuing.

Anybody who believes they may have been a victim, or has any other information they believe to be relevant, is asked to contact Gloucestershire Constabulary through the website, quoting incident 414 of 18 May: https://www.gloucestershire.police.uk/contact/af/contact-us/us/a-crime-that-has-already-been-reported/
