Police are appealing for witnesses to an altercation which took place in Gloucester city centre on Monday night (30 October).

Police were called to Kings Square at around 9pm with a report of an altercation involving five people outside The Regal pub.

It was reported that a fight had broken out between the group before they separated and left the area. One person sustained bruising to their face and eyes.

Two men, aged 21 and 30, were located nearby and arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

A 19-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of affray yesterday afternoon (Tuesday 31 October).

All three have since been released on police bail to allow for further enquiries to take place.

Enquiries are ongoing to identify two other men who were believed to have been involved in the altercation. They were described as follows:

1) A white man between the ages of 20 and 30 who was of a slim build. He had dark hair and was wearing a black coat with white hoodie, blue jeans, white trainers and an Adidas bag.

2) A white man who was also between the ages of 20 and 30. He had dark hair with a beard and was on a bicycle. He was wearing a grey t-shirt, black trousers and white trainers.

A number of people were in the area at the time and are believed to have seen what happened. Officers are now asking anyone who has not yet spoken to police to make contact.

In particular, officers would like to hear from three workmen who were wearing high-vis jackets and tried to intervene. They had been working near to the Transport Hub when the incident took place.
