British Rowing’s Gloucestershire Performance Development Academy is hosting a Talent Identification Day at Gloucester Boathouse on Sunday 19th October, 10am-1pm, aimed at finding new athletes from the county and surrounding areas with the potential to becoming an Olympian.
The day will include the testing assessment, a chance to learn the basics on a rowing machine, and a session on the water. It is open to anyone aged 13 and above, regardless of rowing experience.

The event comes at an exciting time for the programme. Just 18 months after joining the same pathway, four athletes from the Gloucestershire Academy have been selected to represent Great Britain at an international regatta in Spain later this month.
The Gloucestershire Academy is part of British Rowing’s network of regional performance development centres, providing coaching, facilities and support to help athletes progress onto the International Stage.

A short quote from me can be “This is a great opportunity for anyone with sporting ability to see what rowing might offer. The success we’ve seen since the programme was created shows that world-class performance can start right here in Gloucestershire. Just the season we’ve had 21 Great Britain appearances, the most any Gloucestershire based club has had.”
