A man arrested at a protest which happened in Gloucester on Sunday has been released on conditional bail.
The man, aged in his 50s, was arrested on suspicion of breaching public order conditions.
There was a pre-planned policing operation in the city centre to facilitate a peaceful protest.
An inspector who was in attendance at the protest authorised police powers under Section 14 of the Public Order Act 1986.
Barriers were put in place outside Shire Hall on Westgate Street with both groups given their own area to peacefully protest.
The authorisation was given under the Public Order Act for the purpose of removing or reducing the likelihood of damage, disorder, disruption and intimidation.
The arrested man’s bail conditions prohibit him from attending any march, protest or public event organised by the Patriots of Gloucestershire.
Assistant Chief Constable Donna Lawton said: “At yesterday’s protest police powers were authorised to allow the two groups to protest separately.
“Officers were in attendance throughout to ensure we carefully balanced the rights of those who wanted to peacefully protest along with the rights of the wider community to go about their daily lives.
“I would like to thank both protest groups for their contact with us prior to and during the protest, local partners and police officers and police staff involved in the operation.”
