Art for Ukraine, a collaboration of over 35 artists organised by Rita Long, raised the magnificent sum of £3,000 for the Red Cross Humanitarian Appeal for The Ukraine.

Lansdown Gallery in Stroud was thrilled that the generosity of the artists in donating their work was so well supported by the public, with some 600 visits during the 5- day show.  Rita said “I had so many lovely comments from visitors, all keen to support. Buying cards, putting donations in the tin and, of course, buying the art.  The response has been very moving and overwhelming”

Also in the Gallery on the Saturday was a vintage and pre-loved clothes sale organised by local retailer Humphries & Begg.  Clothes rails, coffee and cakes and art for sale, all squeezed into the Gallery together and all in a good cause. Alice from Humphries and Begg was delighted that her sale raised £1,700 for the DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.

So, in all, a total of £4,700 was raised in Lansdown Gallery that week. A big thank you to all the artists and public for their generous support.
