Final rehearsals are underway for Giffords Circus’ latest show, The Hooley, which opens in Stroud next week.
The Hooley comes from the imagination of director Cal McCrystal who has written and directed this year’s show that is dedicated to Nell Gifford, co-founder of Giffords Circus, who died in 2019.
“There will be flying fairies, naughty leprechauns, wild horses, Celtic music and dancing that will create the most joyful Irish shindig.
“Nell and I had a great time planning The Hooley and as an Irishman I am delighted with our theme this year. It promises to be the most magical and poignant show to celebrate our 21st year,” said Cal.
The Hooley stars Tweedy the Clown, Nancy Trotter Landry, Lil Rice, Rebecca Musselwhite, and Duo Imagine, with live music from the Giffords Circus band directed by musical director James Keay.
Following the show Giffords’ unique travelling restaurant, Circus Sauce, will be open serving locally-sourced food, as well as a licensed bar – all socially-distanced.
The Hooley UK tour opens on May 19th and runs until September. Full details can be found on the website: Giffords Circus
