In celebration of Black History Month 2025, Black Ark Media and Stroud Against Racism present Belongings, a celebration of Black British visual art.
The exhibition features five Gloucestershire-based contemporary artists and runs until 26th October at Lansdown Gallery.
Belongings highlights the rich cultural heritage of Black Britons, forged through both struggle and joy, and celebrates the vibrant contributions of Black communities to British life in areas including science, music, food, technology, the arts, and medicine. The exhibition captures the essence of a Britain whose patriotism is inherently kind and infused with hope and creativity.

As part of the month-long celebrations, Black Ark Media and Stroud Against Racism will also screen The Eternal Song at the Trinity Rooms this Sunday from 3pm. The film explores the struggles of Indigenous tribes in the modern world, reflecting on resilience, heritage, and cultural identity.
Belongings offers an impressive and thought-provoking exploration of what it means to be Black and British, inviting audiences to engage with the stories, creativity, and enduring spirit of the artists involved.
